VENEERS
Veneers can transform your smile with just two appointments!
What is a veneer?
A veneer is a custom-made thin layer of porcelain that fits over the top of your teeth. Porcelain veneers are strong, look like natural teeth, and are stain-resistant. Veneers give you the beautiful smile you’ve always wanted!
How do I know if I need veneers?
If you’re unsatisfied with your smile or worried that surface cracks in your tooth may get worse, veneers deserve a look. Veneers can solve the following:
-
Chipped or cracked teeth
-
Gaps between teeth
-
Permanently stained teeth
-
Teeth that appear too short
-
Teeth that are oddly shaped
-
Teeth that are undersized compared to the others
-
Slightly crooked teeth
How Are Veneers Done?
Step 1: Consultation
The first step towards a better smile includes a consultation with Dr. Maney. During your visit, we discuss your goals and what you would like to change about your smile. Then, we’ll review various options to meet your goals. If you decide that veneers are the best way to go, we’ll move to the next step.
Step 2: Preparation
Dr. Maney prepares your teeth for custom veneers. She may remove a minimal amount of enamel from your tooth for the natural fit and look of veneers. Then, we take an impression of your teeth and send it to a dental lab for fabrication.
Step 3: Placement
After making adjustments, Dr. Maney securely bonds your custom veneers to the front of each tooth. She performs a last check of their fit and your bite, and you’ll be ready to show off your new smile to the world!
Caring for your veneers
Your veneers are an investment that you’ll enjoy 24/7. With proper care, they’ll provide years of confident smiles. Luckily, taking care of veneers is not much different than caring for your natural teeth!
Porcelain cannot develop cavities, but the tooth underneath the veneer can still decay. Brushing, flossing, and going to the dentist for your regularly scheduled hygiene appointments will help ensure your veneers and teeth stay healthy!
If you grind your teeth at night, Dr. Maney may recommend wearing a nightguard to bed. Beechmont Smiles can make you a comfortable custom appliance to protect your veneers if you grind your teeth.
Do you play competitive sports? If so, it’s wise to wear a mouthguard every time you play to keep your veneers safe from contact injuries. The skilled team at Beechmont Smiles can make you a custom mouthguard to protect your teeth.
